Terms of Service

The rules for playing Meroveil, in plain language. By playing, you accept these terms.

  1. The deal. Meroveil is a free game with optional purchases. By playing you accept these terms; if you don’t accept them, don’t play.
  2. You must be 18 or older. Meroveil is for adults. You may create an account and play only if you are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher. The game asks for your date of birth before sign-in and may also use the age signals your device’s app store provides. We close accounts we learn belong to anyone under 18. Some optional story content is intended for adults and can be switched off in the game.
  3. Your account. Guest accounts bind to your device; register an email to keep your account across devices. You’re responsible for what happens on your account. One account per player per world; alt-account abuse of competitive or economy systems is a violation.
  4. Virtual items. Gems, units, gear, and everything else in the game are a limited, revocable license to features of the game — not property, not redeemable for money. Purchases are final except where law or the store’s refund policy says otherwise (refunds are handled through Apple/Google).
  5. Random rewards. Summons use disclosed odds (shown on the rates page in-game). Pity rules are part of the disclosed mechanics.
  6. Fair play. No cheating, exploiting, botting, RMT (buying/selling accounts or items for real money), harassment, or unlawful content in chat or names. We enforce with warnings, mutes, rollbacks, suspensions, or permanent bans, proportionate to the violation; serious economy abuse can void the affected gains.
  7. User content. You own what you write (chat, names); you grant us the license to display and moderate it inside the game. We may remove content that violates these terms.
  8. The chat filter. The game checks chat messages automatically against a word list that we keep ourselves; no outside service is involved. A message that hits the list may be blocked. When a line is blocked or flagged, we keep an excerpt of it, at most 120 characters, for 30 days so that a moderator can review it and so that we can handle any appeal (longer only when the line is part of a moderation case). Moderators, who are people, can mute your chat for a set time, or require you to change your display name (a forced rename), which also locks your name for a period. Either way the game sends you a notice that states the reason and how to appeal, and you can appeal as described in the next item.
  9. Reports, decisions and appeals. You can report a player, a name, an avatar or a chat message from inside the game. Anyone, including people without an account, can report content by email to . We review reports and act within 48 hours (24 hours when a minor may be involved). An avatar reported by two established players is hidden automatically until we review it. Each player's reports count toward that automatic hide at most 5 times in any 24 hours; reports beyond that still reach a moderator but do not hide anything on their own. If we suspend your account, the game tells you why and until when the next time you sign in, and gives you a reference. You can appeal any suspension, removal, chat mute or forced rename within 6 months by emailing (with that reference, if you have one). A person reviews every appeal and we reply with the outcome and our reasons.
  10. Service changes. It’s a live game: we add, change, balance, and retire content and may run maintenance windows. We may discontinue the service with 90 days’ notice, after which virtual items expire.
  11. Termination. You can delete your account in the game (PROFILE) at any time (see the account-deletion guide and our Privacy Policy). We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
  12. Disclaimers & liability. The game is provided “as is”; to the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited.
  13. Disputes. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Denver, Colorado.
  14. Changes to terms. We’ll post updates with a new effective date and announce material changes in-game; continued play accepts them.
